ChatSpot.in IRC Chat Rules
Welcome to ChatSpot.in, your place to connect, chat, and share in real-time using Internet Relay Chat (IRC). To keep the environment safe and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these rules across all channels.
1. No Harassment or Abuse
- Treat all users with respect.
- No personal attacks, hate speech, racism, sexism, or discrimination.
- Do not threaten or stalk users.
2. No Spamming or Flooding
- Avoid excessive messages, repeated text, or meaningless spam.
- Don’t advertise products, services, or other websites without permission.
- No unsolicited private messages.
3. Keep It Clean
- No NSFW (Not Safe For Work) content — including nudity, pornography, or explicit material.
- Do not post or link to malware, pirated software, or illegal content.
4. Use Channels Appropriately
- Keep discussions relevant to the channel topic.

- Use English in public channels unless otherwise specified.
5. Do Not Evade Bans or Moderation
- Do not reconnect under a different name or IP to avoid a ban or mute.
- Respect moderators and channel operators (ops).
- Don’t argue bans in public — use
#help
or message an op privately.
6. Respect Privacy
- No doxxing (sharing others’ private information).
- Do not log conversations or share logs without consent.
- Don’t impersonate other users or staff.
7. No Bots Without Permission
- All bots must be approved by admins or ops before joining public channels.
- Unregistered or malicious bots will be removed.
8. Follow the Law
- Do not use ChatSpot.in IRC to engage in or promote illegal activities.
- This includes (but isn’t limited to) hacking, fraud, or copyright infringement.
9. Account and Nickname Use
- Register your nickname to protect it using
/msg NickServ REGISTER
. - Do not use offensive nicknames or impersonate others.
- Keep passwords secure and never share your account.
10. Report Problems Responsibly
- If you see rule violations, do not escalate.
- Report them to moderators in
#help
or via private message. - Use
/whois <nickname>
to find an active moderator if needed.
Consequences of Violating Rules:
- Verbal warning
- Temporary mute or kick
- Temporary or permanent ban
- Loss of channel privileges
All moderation actions are at the discretion of channel operators and admins. Repeated or serious offenses may lead to a permanent network-wide ban.
